Vendo-81 Lighting Question

I have a Vendo-81 and have a question regarding the Lighting on the right hand side
when you open the bottle door.

When I plug in the machine the light is off.

I then push the light switch and hold it down for a couple of seconds and the light
comes on and lights up fine.

My question is this: when I try and turn the light off with the motor running, I am unable to do so.
Is this normal ? ...... is guess is my question.

Right now, the only way to get the light to turn off, would be to unplug the complete machine
which doesn't seem quite right to me.

Can some one here be so kind to straighten  me out on this.

       Sounds like that switch may be faulty.
       Since it's a little hard to locate and not real convenient to replace......
you might want to install a simple on/off switch on the wire leading into the door.

Try pushing the light switch twice to turn off.
