I know its rough but I had to save it. I am hoping my buddy who restored my gas pump wants to take this on.
It has Hires embossed on all 4 sides. It has a drain spout so not sure if it was always an ice chest or at one time was refridgerated. Also obviously missing the cap catcher.

You have a Quikold Master.. nice score... yours is missing the front bottom vent cover and cap catcher... May not have been electric... I've seen a lot of these with the holes drilled for a compressor but never had one...maybe it was an option.... Similar to these...

Also could you please post pictures of the sides.. like to see the darts/indentions along the bottom edge... Hows the rust along these areas?.. these are bad for holding water and rusting out... Nice Find! Congrats on this!

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the info. Here are pics of each side and inside the tub. The rust is bad especially inside the tub, the embossed areas seem salvageable. If it wasn't embossed with a cool brand like Hire's I probably would have left it behind given the condition.
I was picturing all redone in that awesome blue that Hire's had and I had to buy it.

You have a better eye than me, I'd mock it mercilessly and run. Congrats on a cool find.

Here is another master size Quikold with compressor and this model would have had a set of sliding lids. Also attached is a S&S cooler of what colors these were probably done in along with what the logo looked like.
Yes that 50s turquoise blue color they had would be awesome to restore it in .

I found that picture of the white and it does nothing for me. I agree the light blue and I was thinking of going a little fantasy on the embossed part and doing black, red and white like their signs. I was going to use my chalkboard as the sample for the painter.

Here's a picture of the junior in the books restored in those colors... I'm still on the fence on how to do mine... I like all the colors but will probably stay with the way it came off the line. Keep us posted and good luck with the restoration can't wait to see the final result.
