According to Petretti's book, the "trade-mark registered" in the tail was from 1903-1931.......

A quick Wiki Search shows that Perspex didn't come to the general market until 1934 so it would put the trademark out of date.

This would indeed appear to be a reproduction. I hope any potential buyers do the same sort of homework you guys have done here otherwise
he's going to be out a lot of money.
