This is what the site is all about.  happydrinkers

When I first started my restoration research on the Mills 47N I was unsure weather to restore or replace the compressor and found myself at a crossroads. I felt in this particular case It would take away from the history of the machine If a new compressor was installed. I wanted to keep the original compressor but because of its age and missing parts I wasn't sure if it was even possible to restore. My restoration guy who had begun investigating the compressor explained to me his refrigeration guy seemed disinterested in restoring it due to its condition and missing parts. I told him I completely understood but since I wanted to use the original compressor I would search for someone willing and enthusiastic about restoring it. After posting some questions on SMC about restoring the compressor Ken responded to my cries for help. He and I spoke and we agreed if a restoration was possible why not give it a shot. So after some help from another fellow member it was brought to OH from MA at no charge. After taking a look at it he called me and said it seemed like a good candidate for a restore. I was so excited to hear those words. I was expecting the complete opposite. Fast forward a couple weeks and I get a picture text of the compressor from Ken. It's my compressor all restored back to it's original glory days. I couldn't believe my eyes It looked amazing!  happydrinkers

First I want to say a big thanks to Ken (KBAREIT) for saving such a awesome piece of history. You are the man!!! There are allot of other people involved I also want to thank. Thanks to Jim for making this site and these connections possible, Brian (seven181) for bringing the compressor to OH, Steve (Coinopgullwing) for helping with the technical's and Tim (MaineT) for the return trip next week. You all rock!
