its a MUCH slower process.... depending on the amount of rust and / or the amount or type of paint.... it can be a process anywhere from 1 to 3 days.
Ive never done a small thin item like this before.... I usually send beams, HSS tubing etc... but I would think it's al the same.... we shall see.
Whats better ( I feel) is that it is not as harsh as blasting.
I am bringing it tomorrow so I hope to have it back by Monday.  Will post pics when done.

I made a new tub today, but forgot to bring my camera to work... will post those tomorrow.

I'll be curious to see what it looks like too after the acid dipping.

The only negative I've heard about that process is that if there are any seams, the acid can get caught in there and continue to eat away over a long period of time.?

do they put it in a neutralizing bath afterwards?

I'm sure they and you know what your doing, but just my thoughts... hate to have it come out looking like Swiss Cheese on ya?

Well, after a summer of coaching Baseball, camping, working etc... I finally got around to getting the Jr sent off to be dipped (pickled dip).
I brought it to where I do all my galvanizing for work, and they told me that it was too thin of a material to be dipped in their tanks... if they tried it, they and I were worried that it would be too strong of a solution that it would eat away the metal faster than the structural steel that they dip for me all the time.

SO, with a friends recomondation, there is a local place to me (just 5 minutes from my work) that specializes in dipping car parts, and special / thin metals....
Dropped if off on Monday, and it was ready in 3 days....  It came out PERFECT!  I can't believe how it took off all the rust and paint and turned the metal to something that looks better than if I ordered the sheet today! lol

Now it's off to the auto body......
This is my first self resto, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.... not too much to it, but I have two left hands so we shall see  laugh
