I have never claimed to be an expert, but I also seem to know a little more than your average Joe.  Saw this on craigslist and was curious about the cooler itself.  Could it be from that time frame?   He advertises it from 1965, but the paint reflects the Coke Classic logo, which created what, 20 years after the cooler?  Anyone wana throw me some schoolin' ?

I don't have a clue when the cooler was made, but might it have been repainted at some point?

you are correct, the Coke Classic  name came after the New Coke Fiasco.  Not sure where he is getting 1965 from, possibly a copyright stamp or mfg tag. Or pulled a number outta the air

Not to go too far off track here, but was the "Enjoy Coke" branding used at all in the 60's, or did that come later?

It's a Progress 183 special events cooler, p.49 in Jeffs book.

Had the older 1950's "Drink" slogan on it and it was never offered with lids.

Looks to me like Coke jazzed this one up a little in the 70's.  tounge

Have a couple that are half the size of this. Nothing special.

Thanks all............for $150 I'll probably let them enjoy it.  Those lids like a bit too much work for the price
