Hello everybody. I'm new here and wanted to say hi.
Recently I picked up a Cavalier CGD-C. My plan is to restore this back to the day is was made. This will be for my own collection.
I will need to replace a few parts.
One of the metal doors has some rot issues and one of the stainless doors is beat up beyond repair. It's also missing the evaporator fan cover. The drain pan is completely rotted out, but many Cavalier chest coolers used the same one.
In time I'll replace the gaskets, fan and have the cooling mechanism rebuilt. I'll have more questions that I'll post in the appropriate sections.
Thanks for looking. Have a great day.

Welcome to the site! Hope you have luck finding your parts. You might check with the nice folks at Funtronics. I am a rookie to this as well and Janet from Funtronics has always been very helpful in helping me find the right parts.

Thanks for the welcomes BEAYOUNG and Slapshot42. I did buy the "replacement parts list for post war coolers" from Funtronics, it's actually a reprint of what was available in 1958. I'm not complaining, it's helpful to know the correct names of each part. None of the hard parts that I need are being reproduced with the exception of the drain pan front assembly, but I want to find an original with the I C E letters stamped, instead of decals like the repro. I look forward to buying more from them when I'm ready.
I have some pictures that I tried to upload, but they're over 1MB. I'll try to take some tomorrow and if I can figure out how to make them with less memory.

From what I can tell this machine was originally white as the primary color and red as the secondary. Another thing I'll need to find are the dimensions for painting it back like it came, mainly the pattern for the sides. (UPDATE): I found the measurements on my own.

I wanted to send out a HUGE thanks to Eddie (big ed) who really came up big for me! This thread has well over 5,000 views which is unheard of and I'm very thankful that one of those was by Eddie. I would highly recommend him as a stand up, trustworthy member and a great person all the way. Thanks to Jim for approving my membership here.
Here are my 2 new double doors, drain pan, wire cover and evaporator cover. Also, Tigger approves.

Thank you. After today I should be all set for the hard to find parts. I think though I'll work on my CS-64 since it'l be the easier of the 2 to restore.
