Wow, that is really cool...Crazy how perspective changes everything.
And you inadvertently solved another problem for me...I've spent the last few days trying to find a automotive air filter style metal mesh that I could make some lamps shades out of for my carburetor lamps. In one of the photos he describes the chain-link fence he uses, made out of 'WireForm'. It's perfect, exactly what I need!

I wish I had thought of this. One time, I was sitting in the car at the local WalMart SuperCenter. I could look out across the street at the Home Depot. It was probably about 1/3 mile away in a straight line. I was bored, and checking out the Home Depot sign on the building. I aligned my thumb and index finger on either side of the Home Depot name, and supposed that the apparent span of the name from that distance was about 1-2 inches. I'm guessing the sign was over 200 feet long for real. I never did anything interesting with this notion though.

That guy has a fantastic eye - what a great use of depth of field.
Normally I try to avoid that issue by using the right aperture opening (f-stop) but this guy is actually using it to get the exact affect he's after, I'm so jealous!

Really enjoyed looking through those photos. The setup vs final product shots gave great perspective. I have passed the link on to others as well - great post.
