Curtis,

Was this one of yours or did someone take your Howard Johnson idea?

Great looking restoration.  I would love to have one of those but you would have to sell a helluva lot of coffee at 10 cents a cup to pay for it!

Jeff K and Steve Ebner are both a piece of %^$@ Steve is friends with Jeff and got a Stoner mirror from me for a friend, I said no prob. Turned out to be jeff, Steve knew I had created a Howard Johnsons Coffee shop machine for my customer, I had told Steve I was looking for another to do for this same customer so Steve told his buddy if he was to do one in Howard Johnsons my customer would take it, I knew nothing about this, Steve even went as low as ordering a set of Howard Johnsons decals from my guy and had them sent to Jeff. The piece of $%#@ calls my customer and tryed to sell him the machine. My customer told him to no and though how underhanded that was. Steve made alot of money riding on my coat tails and has been bitter every sence I bought that last collection.

Yes I designed The Howard Johnson Coffee Shop Machine

That's what I figured since the auction was in Georgia.  Too bad about your falling out with your old friends.  I guess some people value money over friendship.  Their loss not yours.

I remember when you did that design to that Keeney.  That was very clever.  I still have my Stoner painted and all the parts are ready to go but I still want to clean the boiler.  I haven't found any replacements that can get up to the required 180 F.  I was going to use an instantaneous heater.  There are a few that are made for under a sink in your kitchen.  They get to 180 F.  One is even stainless.  If I get time this year I will try to clean the boiler.  There's always next year.  biggrin

I too am a little saddened with how this went down.  Curtis has helped me for almost 15 years and has asked nothing from me in return.  To do a complete copy and than commercially, sell it off as your own work  is, at the very least, disturbing.  People (especially) that do this for a living should honor intellectual properties.

Curtis is the most creative person  in this industry/hobby and this type of behavior should not be rewarded.

Just my .02

Curtis..........that really sucks.  The upside is your work can stand on its own.  That is one gorgeous machine my friend.
