Totally off topic but wanted to share this with you guys.
We had a small flood in our basement a few weeks ago - nothing huge, but it ruined the carpet in my home office. We decided to get rid of the carpet and replace it with a laminate hardwood. (cheap stuff, but good enough for my basement)
2 weekends ago, I started putting down the floor with the less than enthusiastic help of my eldest son. He's 17 and a good kid, I can't complain in general but let's just say less than motivated to do physical labor. We got about 1/3 of the flooring done over the course of an evening and had to call it quits due to schedules and other priorities.
Yesterday he came moseying on down from his room around noon, to promptly lie down on the couch. Tina and I were headed off to run a few errands and as we were walking out the door he looked up and me and said "when you and mom get back are we going to have to work on the floor some more?" to which I sarcastically replied "Yes, so you might want to get dressed".
When we got home about 2-1/2 hours later... the floor was done. When I asked what happened he shrugged and said "I was bored so I finished it".
Not only did he finish putting down the laminate, he did an outstanding job with it!
