Well, here is the pic of my 55 Ideal Coke.
I thought I would put it next to it's sister to give it some company lol.
Now I just have to figure out if I want to have it restored one day, or polish it up best I can and convince the other half to let it sleep in the mancave.

Looks real nice Ed.

I agree with Ken...keep it as is...it's only original once!

They both look great, would hate to see that original look lost forever with a re-paint.

Add my vote to the "Keep it original" group Ed!  My embossed 55 was restored, but it was WAAAAAY worse looking than yours, it needed to be restored.  Yours is a sweet looking original.  Keep it that way!

I would leave it original also. I've seen one restored before and because it's white, well most of it at least, the machine just doesn't jump at you as a red machine does. Kind of like a restored white door 72.

Thanks guys....
I am leaning towards keeping the Coke original.... but the Squirt needs to be restored I feel.  But who knows... once I get a coin mech on it, polish it down, it may stay original too  smile

Great looking machines. To restore or to leave original. I always believe that this is up to the owner. Depends on what he has in store for the machines, and how it goes with the rest of his collection. But they are both really nice as they sit.

The 55's are my favorite,  I also would leave them like they sit.  You don't find them in that condition very often.  Very nice machines...

I vote leave them as they are... those are great survivors.. I see more collectors leaving gas pumps and machines as they are found.. even cars are being clear coated over the found barn look.
Your machines are too nice to restore. Nice collection you have going on.... happydrinkers
