just a quicky...Found this embossed 7up Ideal 55A while I was out & about yesterday. It was peaking out from the back deck of this gents lake home, so I took a chance & left a card, got a call back earlier this evening & $100 later it got a nice ride in the back of my truck, no rack, but a working solid machine with a complete coinmech and the cap-catcher was inside, so not a bad day after all! (the pictures shown were it "in the wild" so to speak.)
I have already gotten it torn to bit's in my garage & found about $3.00 in 60's dimes hiding inside the coinbox ( sorry to say I had to drill the lock) the date on the coinmech read August,1958. The gentleman I bought it form said he may still have the rack in his basement somewhere & He'd give me a call if he runs across it ( his wife is having him "dig" things up for a neighborhood garage sale this week end.

I wish I could find these for a 100 bucks! That's a good score, even for a 7UP.

That is the way to do it! Always worth inquiring,I'm sure that would have been bought-up in the garage sale.It seems you "beat-it" by just a couple days!

Yeah, I think I did alright for $100 myself too. He was happy to sell it, his wife was glad to get the space back on the deck, the only dissatisfied customer was their cat who was perplexed as to where her sunning spot went.

Nice find. I found a fabulous but very nasty acid based cleaner that does wonders on the grime, nicotine, and gunk that cleans the white 7up machines very well. Its called formula 44 made by jersey chemical. Rubber gloves required unless you like peeling skin. George in jersey
