I know these have been posted before.. but I am amazed what these are still bringing... that gumball machine restored to its original regular gumball machine condition might bring $100-150... They are making some really good money... Good for them... I have four OAKS I need to restore...may theme them out... http://www.ebay.com/itm/360644345451?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

It's funny I almost posted something about them the other day. There are 15-20 bids on every one. I'm not buying that there are that many people bidding on them but I guess you never know. It is a price range that almost everyone can afford and they are pretty cool. Congrats to them if they can move that many.

I remember about a year ago when I saw that someone decided to take a penny Oak and turn it into a Sinclair gas pump theme. Thing sold for almost $1,000. Then about a week later eBay was flooded with them selling for about $100-$150.

we sell lots of restored gumball machines in our shop. Most people like them on stands... If they don't want to spend the $$ on a restored soda machine or Gas Pump, they can at least go home with something cool for the rec room.

The machine in that auction is a peanut machine. The machine itself is a restored original turned into a fantasy machine. They do seem to bring the money. I was looking for one a while back but didn't want to pay what they were going for. I think that one is a little overdone. I like any vintage machine restored to its original condition.

the last "buyer" had 40 some ratings, all smaller size decals for gumball machines ( yes they were listed as such) The sale item supposedly purchased was removed , but was a gumball machine
The Ebay billingprocedures make it a losing money idea to hill, so I m not sure what the game is

Great George, please tell us, how much is the REAL market willing to pay for a restored gumball machine? Original vs themed? $800.00 seems high even though we know there is a lot of time and cost involved in these little gadgets. I have seen some hot nut machines that I would pay that for........... but bubble gum? I also think all those auctions are staged.

I've seen the Northwestern gumball machine Eric posted in the link (just the machine without all the coke stuff and base) sell for $80-$120 depending on condition.

There is a big mark up in these machines but the market on eBay is saterated. When the guy in Orlando (thetre company or something) started doing them they were selling for silly money. Now everyone is in on the game.
Glen - From your point of view I would see these doing very well in your shop. Relatively low investment and as George says the chance for someone to take something away when they can't justify the coke machine.
I have been selling wall vendors for years. Now with American Restoration showing over here everyone is jumping on. I sell original restored vintage vending machines they sell pimped up modern condom machines. Joe Public can't tell the difference.

I agree with Dave for a little investment you can get a big payday. they are great for someone that wants the "coke" machine look but don't have the room , money etc to buy one.

I sell them anywhere from $275 to $450 Canadian $ depending on the machine, stand, and paint job. The Harley Davidson themed machines with offical Harley Decals are my best seller. Pepsi blue/white and coke are my next best sellers. They aren't huge money makers by any means, but like I said before, great small item someone can take home with them without braking the bank.
