I would like to hear from the experts as to what they think these are worth. I am going to look at them tonight and I am walking proof that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing (to mysel mostly). The owner said he knows very little about them including their current working and completeness status so a value range based just on the pictures would be greatly appreciated. He does think the vendo is a reproduction but I have no idea.

Knows nothing about them... Lowball him and he will become an expert!!
There has been a nice 72 near me for a while for $1300, and it hasn't sold.
The 80 looks restored. If original it's a nice one.

The V was never repopped. No one one wants the originals for gosh sakes, though they aren't a bad looking machine

Is that a Coke wire bottle rack in the picture? If so - do you know if he's selling that (and where he's located)? I've been looking for one to hold my old wooden bottle crates. Jim

On the 80 many people who know nothing about machines tend to call repainted/restored machines reproductions.

The 72 has been painted and not original because they painted right over the coin mech, which is missing the rejector. Everything else inside the coin door is also painted red! I like the 72 with its' big embossing, but it is a small bottle, single flavor machine still. Assuming completeness, bad paint job and all - I wouldn't pay over $300-$400 for it. That's my opinion at least.

Here is the 72 at home in my garage.
Can anyone help me with a question on parts? If I decide I want a coin mech are these compatible with a 33?

72's are a cool machine. It's one of the machines that I never restored and wish I would have. It's one of the machines that I feel fly just a little under the radar. You don't see them too often, aren't talked about much, very hard to put a value on them but still a very, very cool machine.

72 & 33 share a lot of the same parts - Fun-Tronics has the repros. Slug rejector is same as any SD mech.

I went on funtronics and looked real quickly but could not find the coin mech. I have to admit, I have been a member here for 3 years, have bought many soda signs, a Glascock jr and a westinghouse jr reproduction but this is the first upright machine that Ive owned. It is hard in my area to find these and when I do they are usually double retail price. What all that means is I am pretty green at doing any work on these.

You won't find the slug rejector at Fun-Tronics. They are getting increasingly hard to locate. You can easily set the mech to free vend until one is located.

it already does free vend so I am not dying to get a coin mech. My priorities are to get a new lock so I can close the coin door and fill in the small hole and paint the the white parts red and enjoy it as is

I like the 72 just seems like the red front needs to have some white to break up the red some where.

I thought the same thing about all the red but i am going to try to make it look as original as possible. Unfortunately in its past someone else did not like the all red and painted everything except the door white....ugh

I prefer the VMC 72 in the all red. All red was the way they were produced originally.
