Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like it, it's definately different, but unfortunately 99% of the time, your average person looking for a restored Coke machine will want the original red. I wish him luck on the sale. Could look good in the right setting, someone could fall in love with it or a collector with money that's sick of looking at red could buy it. Just my opinion that's worth what you paid to read it.

That makes my eyes red. A coke machine is red, a pepsi is blue , RC is yellow, But I also think the PGA should also go back to a softer ball and a wood driver so you can compare to old standards. They still talk about a running back gaining a 1000 yards for a season is great. guess what the NFL plays 16 games , 100 yards per game was started as a standard and still should be. I guess if it is yours do as you want but lets keep Coca Cola RED.

Opinion...Both machines are basically total udder mistakes, especially the second example with the ludicrous graphics, he should stick to painting boxcars, or at least cut down on his crack. ( I wonder if it has a shag carpet interior? )

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

It probably sat beside a 55-57 Chevy the same color and I bet it looked pretty cool...... Then! Out of that element, it looks off.

Love 57 Chevy turquoise--on a 57 Chevy. A little too much on a Vendo 39. Before I read the add, I thought that it looked more like VW Bug Robin's Egg Blue. Either way it does not work for me. Tim

I've seen that 39 with the Impala mural listed several times over the years. Maybe it sucks the life out of the owner. Or his fashion sense. But hey, if you like it, have at it. The most extreme I've been thinking is making an RC Cola 39.

To each their own. If someone likes it they'll buy it. I've seen worse things done to machines besides the paint job.

I'd be curious to see a before picture of the machine. Would hate to see a nice original painted tourquoise, but if the paint needed to be redone anyway, I guess its the owner's choice. There are tons of 39s out there and most of them are probably used more as eye candy than as an actual machine since they don't vend a 12oz bottle. If this fits someone's decor then it certainly is a one of a kind. I think it will be hard to recoup the money put into the paint unless the perfect buyer shows up. I have a 39 that has an average at best repaint from earlier in its life. Looks OK sitting in the corner, but I've been trying to decide what to do with it. May do a "custom" job on it and turn it into a father/son project to make it a MIZZOU Tiger machine. Won't spend near the money on paint that these guys did, but it certainly won't be red when we get done with it.

Can't believe no one made reference to my "Herb Tarlek" title Am I that old that I'm the only one who knows who that is? I guess to each their own when it comes to these machines.... Yet if we all saw a 57 chevy done up in a rainbow colour to promote skittles, I don't think many on here would say "oh well" It is a nice resto job though

Haha. I was just thinking, "Herb Tarlek? How do I know that name? I know it's from tv. I have to Google it." Is it WKRP, or Three's Company?

I was 4 years old when that show started so.... no.... passed me by completely.
I recall the show from reruns on probably nick at night.. After Googling it I remember some others including venus flytrap... but still no Herb memory at all. Funny how pop culture doesn't stand the test of time!

Along with Three's Company (still watch that on TV at least once a week) WKRP was the best show. Herb was the cheesy guy one would see at a bar trying to pick pick up anything that walked. Funny... every time I drive to Florida, we go through Cincinnati, and then the theme song of WKRP comes into my head, and it stays in there until at least Georgia lol. "As God as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jRXt2Bt1Sc
