hey guys,

picked this one up yesterday, think its a pretty nice original with all the parts, racks, cap catcher, opener, even has wheels, which I didn't realize until we were loading it into my truck, the seller picked it out of a barn loft about 10 years ago, pretty cool, I'm psyched to have it, although if anyone has been looking for one of these and has a quikold jr or standard they'd like to trade I'm all ears....

ha Eric, I knew you wouldn't be able to let that slide, I had to throw the quikold thing in there...hey your probably getting tired of that Nichol Kola one you have right? lets do a straight up swap, this gullwing is like twice the size which makes it twice as good..

I've never seen this cooler in any other brand... A lot of time and money went into this cooler
for Pepsi and don't think it was in the market too long... just the double dot... I had one but was rough
also had the other Heintz single lift top... both gone...
Again nice rare cooler... nice score!

thanks guys, I like the weird ones,  I took a closer look today, I think this started life as a refrigerated version, in this picture you can see what looks like a thermostat, the other cooling components must have been ripped out and repurposed or something

Temple University Library has a lot of interesting pictures from Heintz Manufacturing Company.  Check out the picture on the bottom of this page dated 11-13-1946:

That picture looks like she is placing the liner in a Canada Dry Heintz which was a little different than the gull-wing.  Kind of wish I had never sold that one now. darn
