I have been doing a little minor work to a machine that I have wanted to sell for sometime.

I decided to pull the main door off and clean as much surface rust off that I could.  I used a rubbing compound to cut most of the rust off.  It took a lot of elbow grease but most of it came off.  I than used a polishing wax, which really made it look a lot cleaner.

I stripped the door down and laid it on some saw horses. This made it very easy to mask and paint it with out any runs.  It was pretty cold so I did light coats of paint and than after each coat I used a heat gun very lightly back and forth.

I have my sign painter painting the lettering later this week.  I will post pictures when the door is done.

I hope this will help make a difference.  I found it fun to work on the machine, know that it didn't need to be perfect.
