Well here are some pictures of two projects that I just finished. The first one is a Frostie VMC 81. I took a generic VMC 81 and made it into a Frostie machine. The words Frostie and Frostie holding the bottle are embossed. It took me quite some time to find the embossing that would fit just right. Then I took a big chance on the color. I have seen square top Frosties done in yellow, but wanted something different, so I decided to go with the light blue. I was very satisfied with the results. It really stands out and turned out great. I did this machine for a friend of mine that is putting together a collection of machines.
A while back I did a Orange Crush machine for a friend of mine, and I liked it so well that I finally got around to doing one for myself. It is also embossed. They both look great together. Next I'll have to do a Frostie for me to keep.  drinking

Very nice Rod!!   I'm reminded of an old saying in the hot rod community:  "Anyone can restore one, but it takes a real man to cut one up".

      Wow, Fantastic!
Thanks for that close-up of the embossing, I had to stare at it for a long time to figure out how you did that. Excellent engineering and placement.  happydrinkers

It's from a sign. I had to find just the right size and thickness of metal. Took some time to find.

I don't know Rod why you would make up a story about "Creating" this machine.. why you just tell the truth.. that you and ONLY you had stumbled across a rare find of Frostie, Nesbitt and Orange Crush VMC's... Oh and don't forget to tell people they can't look behind the liner..  biggrin

Love the Frostie and the Crush.  Those were my two favorite sodas when I was a kid.  In general we did not have soda around the house but when we got to hang out at my dad's drugstore, we could have a pop with lunch.  I always had a Frostie.  The only other time we might get soda at the house was when we were down with strep throat or some other illness.  Those days my request was always Orange Crush.  I would love to have both of those machines.

Great work! happydrinkers

Rod did say he found a Rare Embossed Quikold Frostie Jr right down near Erics neck of the woods and decided to chop it up..  glare sorry Eric..

He did say in an earlier post he used a tin sign that had the same thickness in metal... which I'm sure was hard to find as well... most tin signs are thin metal..

Love it! This is why fantasy machines are awesome because they are just that. It's gives us all something different to look at and when they are done like that what is not to like, or in this case love. I know in some older post there was a small debate fantasy or non fantasy. I think after seeing that Frostie machine we can all put that discussion to rest.
