Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Seriously though, I'd say in solid working condition, I'd pay $350 to start since it's the "rare" embossed Ideal-55

If it's complete, I'd say it's worth $1000

The rack, coin mech and cap catcher are worth a minimum of $500 on their own for these 3 pieces together. Sold boat loads of these parts at those prices.
Any rare embossed slider like Hires is worth $400-500 on their own with none of the above pieces (one Hires stripped down just sold for $475 on ebay), OC's worth more like $700 stripped down (rarity 5.0), and the Coca Cola is the 2nd rarest next to the Dad's which I've never seen.
I think the Coca Cola is worth at least $1000-1200 on it's own, and $1500-$1700 if complete.
It all comes down to how bad somebody wants it. And there are many Coke collectors out there who this slider is a "must have".
Congrats on your pickup Tim. If you didn't buy it, I would have. You may want to keep it...These don't turn up very often, and I've only seen 2 of them, and owned one of them.

BTW, a known restorer on this site sold a restored Coca Cola embossed Ideal 55 last year for $4800.
An embossed Hires sold for $3800 by the same restorer, as a reference point.
Another restorer recently sold a restored Hires for $3900 on ebay.
The Coca Cola is the "mac daddy" in the slider world and brings in big money.
I think it holds it's value more than any other slider, and will be the one to own for years to come.

I've got one of them in the queue with Pat to be restored. I think it's a GREAT looking machine and I'm really looking forward to picking it up.

Those 10 cent bottle decals on the bottom need to be reproduced. Its ashamed they will be lost in the restoration process. I would like to have one of those on my slider. Great vintage look. I read a post earlier this week about another decal that others were interested in. I wish more of the older decals were reproduced beside the same old sprite boy and the hand holding the bottle.

Remove and replace the rest of the red paint, just keep the white front for a while?

pics of the decals. its a cool one.
And, you can see that it had the Frankenstein coin mech at one time by the dirt line!
The story was this guy got it from his former father in law about 20 years ago when it was retired from coke. His father in law worked for coke and was allowed to take a couple of machines home when then we taken out of service.
