Me and GP did a bit of English Picking yesterday. Visited an old collector of coin op who was looking to thin his collection right down. The chap had bandits and wall machines all over his very small warden assisted apartment. Literally nowhere to sit. He'd even ripped the kitchen out to use the space. It was getting far too much for him.
Well we came away with a few bits. GP got some very nice bandits and I managed to grab a couple of items in exchange for quite a few vending machines.
Have enclosed pictures of a Crane and a 1940's/50's game called "Steer a Ball." Purely mechanical apart from the light. You steer a large ball bearing through a maze and if succesful you get your money back.
Also managed to get a very nice 1929 US Gottlieb shooting game. Its a wooden case with a moving target that has a gun that fires ball bearings.
Managed to shoe horn them all into the little room. My little girl has spent all night trying to steer the ball.

Very cool Dave ! Glad you were able to find some great machines. "Steer a Ball" is hard. Santa Cruz. CA. boardwalk had one. More pics if you get a chance. Thanks! Creighton

Those are awesome! The Steer a ball one kind of sounds like a game that I saw at an arcade. It was a modern machine but I think you had to roll a gumball or something up a set of ramps and if you got it to the top you won a prize otherwise if it fell you got a gumball. I usually end up with a gumball on that game

Hi Larry
here are some pictures of the Majestic Moving Target. It works, after a fashion. The movements are on a timer which should last a couple of minutes but is only lasting a couple of seconds. Looks like a sealed unti. But until I get a moment to have a good look not completely sure what's wrong. She is a heavy old girl. Case made of solid oak.

Nice machines Dave.
No need to come to the States when you have pickings like that in the UK! Never see those here!
