Pretty clean unit, no rust. The compressor was just rebuilt and it cools down ice cold. I don't have an interior or side pic. I will get some up soon.

What number should I throw out? I think this can be had for $2500. Too high?

PS

this is different from the one I posted earlier...that one was 3 hours away. This one is local.

This one is a "D" model, very complex coin mech to work on (for anyone but Tom), it has had a terrible re-paint and bezels are missing. I've seen enough to know I dont even need to see the inside, very poor quality workmanship.
It is a $1500 machine even if the rest of the parts are in there.
The "B" you first posted was a much better buy even if it is a few hours away.

Well if I can get this for $1500 and honestly even $1700, Im probably buying it. The one 3 hours away was $3k, and while I may get that one for $2500 I still think it's $800 more and a 6 hour roundtrip drive. As soon as I get more pics you guys can better inform me if this is even $1500 neighborhood worthy. A repaint on the outside of this one is not something that scares me away. Im just curious about what you guys think of the innards. Ill get those up as soon as I can.

If you can get it for 1500 and it it is what you want, go for it.
The missing bezels to me  are not a deal breaker.
But i do say look at the insides and the bottom for beltline rust.  The shelves should all be there, and the compressor cooling and working

looks like it is missing a few bottle guides on the shelves, but thats not a big deal, whats the status?  I agree with the others, offer him 1200, then get it for 1500

$1750...done. I wanted it, and in the end feel pretty good about it. I figure the way the market is in my area, I got a pretty good deal.

Now....what's the first thing I should do to start getting this bad boy looking pristine again? I want to powder coat the shelves and while the compressor was just rebuilt along with the wiring harness, I want that looking brand new as well. Where would you start?

Nice pick up, and at a good price in my opnion.
Where I would start first is, unless you are 100% sure you want a restored machine, I would first start by giving the machine a GOOD CLEANING.  You'll be surprised how well some of theses machines can actually clean up with some good ol elbow grease!!

THEN, if it's not up to your standards, think about the restore.... but at least give the ol dog a chance to live a natural life  smile

Again, nice find.

ADDED NOTE:  I reread your orignal post... didnt notice that its been repainted before.... in that case, STIP HER DOWN lol

As soon as I get her home and give her a good cleaning I'll post some better quality pics. You guys can give me your 2 cents if you think it's worth media blasting this baby down and repainting her. I sure would like that 2 tone paint to really POP! Otherwise, I'm probably just gonna start with a few small things. Rechrome the medal, rezinc the coin mech, and clean up the compressor.

It appears that only the front has been re-painted, the rest is all original. You will find that with new chrome and plating, it will make the old finish will look like crap!
There is nothing wrong with refinishing the front doors, bottle stack, shelves and compressor first. At a later date you can always repaint the cabinet and liner.

Good point...that new shiny chrome probably would really bring a lot of attention to a bad paint job.
