I was wondering if anyone has any dime mechs for sale? Im looking for 3 of them in working condition.. I have seen them used in all types of machines.. National Rejectors is the brand .. It went into a vending machine from the mid 1950s I do think these might be fairly common.. I did attach a few pics of front and back of the type I need.. the one pictured takes dimes and nickles..Even though it will work I do only need ones that take a dime.. But either mech will be fine..Any help would be great...thanks..Brian...

brian, what are the dimensions of that rejector, is it the same one as in the soda machiens or smaller ones like in the Popcorn machines as there are a few different ones. I may have some of the smaller ones...

John, It is the same style rejector that would fit an 81 or 39 mech. Looks like this....

Hey John, the dimensions are 4"wideX 5" tall.... I dont think this would be considered to be the smaller type.. The one I need is just like the one "collecture" posted... I am starting to wonder if these are easy to find or not Any help at all would be great...thanks again

Ok, I just asked as I have some smaller rejectors that I got awhile back, and was told they where from popcorn machines? but don't look like they'd fit Popperettes? so figured maybe Up pop its or it's counterparts?

The smaller National Rejector dime mechs with the reject chute on the left hand side fit the U-Pop-It, Minit-Pop & Popcorn Shop. They are very difficult to find. There are a few different rejectors that look similiar like the ABT and a couple different versions made by National for different machines and from what I have seen have the reject chute on the right hand side.
I've attached a couple of pictures of the U-Pop-It/Minit-Pop/Popcorn Shop Mech and it's housing.

Hey Brian... The one you just posted is the type I need... The ones I have been finding all reject the coin on the wrong side.. Just like you explained... What I thought might be a common rejector is now turning out to be very difficult to find... This maybe a long process to find a few.. All the rejectors I need will be used in a Minit Pop/ U Pop It/ PopcornShop type machines...lol.. Again any help would be great..thanks....Brian.....

I had about 7 of the dime only mechs 3 months ago, but all have been sold. I am currently completely out of spare SD rejectors and only have those paired with my mechs. Why can't you use the nickel/dime mech? Space restrictions?? You can set the rejector so that all nickels are automatically rejected and only dimes accepted.

Hey collecture, I do think that a mech that takes nickels and dimes would work in the machine just fine...As long as it rejects all coins to the left.. Even if it takes Nickels they wont fit in the coin slot so that shouldnt be a problem... Thanks again!!

Brian, I got your PM, but will answer you in the forum for the benefit of all.
The slug rejector is often mistakenly called a coin mech or coin rejector, which is a misnomer - you want it to accept coins not reject them). A coin mech is the mechanism that makes the machine work (i.e. crank handled mech on a soda machine) and the coin is the catalyst for making it work. A Slug Rejector is a device that has two purposes: 1. Test coins for validity and reject slugs, foreign or bent coins. Valid coins will be accepted. Slugs or invalid coins will be rejected. 2. Direct coins from the coin entry chute to the coin block (if accepted) or to the coin return cup (if rejected)
National Rejectors, Inc. made a lot of different rejectors - penny only, nickel/penny, nickel/dime, nickel only, dime only, quarter only, quarter/nickel, quarter/dime and all of these are the same size (small door) rejector. They just have a few different parts - for example: the nickel/dime, dime only and quarter/dime all have the same backside (where the dime is validated), but the front side is assembled differently (see pics --- L to R - N/D, D, Q/D). So realistically a quarter/dime rejector can be used in a soda machine. You just set the rejector to reject all quarters (easily done) and only accept dimes. Hope this helps! I have an extra Quarter/Dime rejector if interested - LMK

Glen - that is a dime mech for a Vendo 83 or Vendo 23. The dime exits on the front side and would not work for his machine.

Ok, Here are the small rejectors I mentioned earlier (Pictures 1-2)... I confirmed by looking at my Popperette that the 4 smaller ones are indeed from the popperette, so if anyone is needing a rejector i have some .. however i don't have the holder and relays..
the other two are slightly larger and those I thought might be from another different popper? (photo 3-4) Thoughts?

Hey John, By the pictures you posted those ones would not work in my case... They are to small and I think it rejects the coins to the right and not the left... Thanks for your help though... maybe someone will see them on here and could use them..lol.. Once again thanks for all your help Brian....

Tom,
You should write a reference book. Your wealth of knowledge on coin mechs is unbelievable.

The rejector/acceptor for the Minit-Pop/U-Pop-it is NOT the same size as a "regular" soda pop machine unit, it is smaller.

SO maybe the 3 I have are the right deal.. the only reason I'm convinced they are from popcorn machines is that they all came from the same guy I bought all those poperettes from 3 years ago... and he said everything was from popcorn machines?
Brian or brian, get me the measurements or a photo of the ones in your units.. and we'll compare.

I heard Rick's girlfriend is mad at me for posting some "unprofessional" comments about him on this site. I doubt he will call but thanks Tom.

Hey John... I think those slug rejectors will fit... But I think they reject coins to the wrong side.. The slug rejectors measurements are 4"wide X 5" heigh ... That is just the slug rejectors measurement...not with the holder or bracket it mounts too.. All coins have to reject to the left..and the accepted coins go to the right... "collecture" knows alot about these...Im sure he would know by looking at your pics... Thanks for all you help....
