Took the Vending stack out of my Vendo 81. This was converted with a solenoid years ago in which they modified the bottom of the vending stack. The lever, lock slide, and latch our present, but the cylinder cam is missing. I have a cylinder cam from a Vendo 110. Does anybody have any picture of the bottom of the vending stack. The linkage is still inside the main door and I also have a large door mech.
It looks like the cam attaches with the same hardware from the opposite side where the lock lever, lock slide and latch our connected?
Any help would be great thanks

Remove the electrical linkage from the stack and mount your cam cylinder through that hole which is where the original was mounted. Add a spring and you're done. Now move on to switching out the electric mech. basically the same way. You should be done today.

I attached the cam from the Vendo 110. A direct fit and tightened it down. When I attached the spring cam it seems kinda loose, and sloppy when I manually recoil the cam to imitate the linkage making connecting with the cam for vending. It doesn't seem to coil very tight causing the return to allow for the lock slide to be come free. Every other 3-4 vends I can get the lift gates to vend. Thoughts: 1.) I may need a new cam spring, the old one out of the Vendo 110 could be to long, or worn out? 2.) I have the spring attached in the wrong spot? 3.) Adjustments have to be made on the lock slide, lever, and or latch screws? I took out the electric mech., and all the conversion pieces. The the large door is back in. I have not hooked up the linkage arm yet but that will be by next step. I will be able to use the linkage arm instead of me trying to do it manually. The conversion kit is in very good condition if anybody is looking for one for a transitional machine. It came with the cover plate and hardware, coin return spacer that attached to the inside of the coin return to void the space. Also have the bracket for the coin boxes which goes below the electronic coin mechanism. I needed to take a little break...

Try cutting a few coils off the end of the spring and bend the last coil to use as your new hook.

I have attached the linkage is there a correct way of setting the linkage? I having trouble matching up the "T" part at the the bottom while setting the cotter pin up top to the mechanism. I had to use my spring and "t" parts off the 110 linkage they were missing from the bottom end where the linkage spring meets with the cam on the vending stack.

The 110 and 81 stacks are "mirror images". Parts that work in one are backwards in the other. Maybe this will help ID what will and won't work.

It's a pain, but one of those only do once deals. On my RT 56 (hope 81 is the same) you want the barrel at the bottom of the stack cranked to the right with a notch at about 2 oclock. Adjust the T so it lines up with the barrel and moves the barrel to the left for vend. Hope this helps. Creighton

You can make linkage adjustments through the circular access plates near the "T". Also, the linkage has a correct way to attach to the mech shaft. Check that everything is connected correctly. A manual for the VMC-81 is available in the Downloads area also.

A new vending cam spring did the trick and a little shot of WD-40 on the vending stack. The new spring was considerably shorter and much stiffer. Vended perfectly every time manually.
Unfortunately when operating the crank handle the internal portion inside the coin mech. moving. When the crank handle is operated the "fingers" when removing the slug look like they are moving at an angle instead of square. There is also some kind of glue down there.
I think it's time for some TLC. Dr. Tom Barnes.. are you up for it?
Good news is the vending stack is working...
Thanks Again,
Jared

Pretty busy until probably mid-March, so enjoy the machine for a bit. You can send it anytime you want though. Thanks!
