I was glad that when I tripped across this machine that it was still available and Slider-Bob was able to get it.
We could not have picked a better day for a road trip and we successfully avoided the many OH and PA State Police that we passed along the way. The hard part was leaving the beer in the cases and not drinking it on the way home. Bob only paid $2,500 which I thought was a good deal based on an past episode of Hard Core Pawn Detroit!
Bob said that once Pat restores the machine that he is going to sell it to me for $250! Or did I dream that part?
The brown and tan paint job is rather unique. I think that was an Ideal option available between June 1956 and March 1957 called "the full Cleveland"! Maybe you should just put woodgrain contact paper on the lid and call it restored!
Anyway, a good road trip, kind of felt like American Pickers! The machine is now safe and sound in Bob's Secret Slider Storage area until it makes a trip to Pat's place for a little TLC!
Hope to see everyone at the Michigan lunch next month and that there are more good stories to share. Time to crack a beer and watch a little TV.
Tim
PS--Thanks for the slider manual and the case of beer Bob!
