Well, finally after a couple of years of searching I found the perfect machine to bring home and cuddle with.
Ummm, did I say that out loud?
Actually what I meant to say was I finally found a machine I can afford that is in mechanical working order!!
Cavalier css-141g
It is set to vend free full time!! I cannot afford to feed 3 kids FREE BOTTLED COKE!! I'm not made of money you know!
My question you might ask?
I want to set it back to where the kids have to pay their own way!! I do however like the schematic of the free play switch and will incorporate that into my master plan.....
First things first though, Can someone help me out with this?
I have looked all over the coin mech and cannot find any markings that tell me make on the mech. I suspect however that the relay switches is where i'll have to look to solve this mystery!

hello welcome Post a Pic cause without it we all are sunk also people have made a free vend by using a keyed switch IE you have the Key your kids dont it only turned to " free vend" when you stick the key in and turn it. If ya cant do bottled coke heres a cheap idea Bottled kool-aid mix it up bottle it and then presto you have 1 gallon of liquid that costs 1 packed( 15cents) and 1 cup of sugar( ahhhhh what maybe 50 cents? and water semi free. your wallett full priceless  '>

not a problem, use your thumbs on the little latches on the upper right & left corners gently push up & tip the coin acceptor/slug rejector forward & tip it up & out, now you'll see the price setting switches! here's a guide diagram to help you out..

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001...  Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan. |

bad news:
It was already set to a .10 vend, and is still vending free? I moved the switches to set to .25 vend and it still vends free.
Any other suggestions greatly appreciated!

Sad but true, the coinmechs logic board is bad,
so that leaves you with two possibility's, one replace the coinmech. or two, repair/replace the circut board, ( from a doner coinmech) usually, it's a bad Zener diode ( voltage regulator) on the circut board, however this is dependent on how handy you are with a soldering iron.

Another possibility is that someone did something to the vending mechanism. I was looking at a Cavalier a few weeks ago on ebay and the person auctioning it off said

You may want to also look at the rack lock to see if the spring is there.

I've also been scouring the web for a manual, No luck as of yet...
That would be a plus too if anyone has a source.

At the bottom of the vending rack, is the electric solenoid to pull in the release so the rack can vend a product.
To follow up on what dr. galaga has mentioned... You might find someone may have altered the vending release mechanism to allow free vending.

maybe a little good news....
I removed the cover over the solenoid and hey hey, the cables have been unplugged from it...
the question....
No idea which side of the solenoid to hook the cables back to.
another question...
Is operation of the coin mech dependant on the solenoid being hooked up? should the coin mech still function properly without the solenoid being hooked up?
as always, many thanks for your advice!
oh, ordered my manual today from fun-tronics... very nice and easy guy to deal with!!
