I've just finished my V56 and I'm looking for another project. I'm thinking about something small. Maybe a gas pump. Well really just looking for some ideas for something next.

I think you might have better luck at a gas pump forum, not being a wise guy , just suggesting

Lots of people here have petrol pumps and could advise... I think a pump next to a soda machine would be a fine addition. Perhaps a vending machine...?

Spring is coming and that means gas ansd oil shows, as well as antique festivals.
Define Small, the globe mounted ones of the 1940's - 50's are only 5-6' with the globe, and parts are readily reproduced. The early visibles of the 20's and 30's can go 7-8 ft.
They are a great peice for the man cave or game room when done.

yeah no taller than 6'. Small vending machine might be cool also. I thought I was fine saying gas pump in the Swap Meet Area. didn't mean to offend anyone.

Like Dave said, several of us here also have a gap pump, or restore them or collect them. Ask away, we can save you a lot of grief, and we like to share our likes

I may have a "shorty" that I would be willing to part with. I think it is a Tokhiem 39 but I am not sure. I live in the Buffalo NY area.

Gas pumps and coolers go hand in hand...
your best bet is from the mid 50's .. something like a Tokheim 39, tokheim 300, Benentt 966. (google those for ideas)... you can usually find them for around 400-500 and parts are readily avaialbe from Gas pump Heaven or Vicks 66..

Or you can start off with a 1927 Erie clock face. This was my very first restoration over 10 years ago. It is still my favorite piece

I have a tok. 39 and with the globe it only measures 6 ft 2 inch. I thought if you had a coke machine you had to have a pump

the gasboy is one of he smallest gas pumps made, but it is not a very sought after model. the one listed for 1500.00 is way over priced. by this book and look thru it to see what model gas pump you might like. it list hundreds of gas pump models(with pictures and approximate values), i had 9 pumps, fry 5 gal visible a few script tops, some bennet 900 series. here is the link for the book, saw it listed on ebay but was more money, http://www.cheesepitstop.com/viewtopic.php?t=10028

Looks like the book might have sold out. The link has been disabled.
