Found this cruising around on Craigs List tonight, looks nice, they're asking $600.  At least I think it's a theater model, poor pictures on the ad. anyway, enjoy!  blush

That's my 180.  I posted pictures on my After Christmas Sale thread a few days back.  I probably should have used higher res pictures but I ended up using the same pics I used on this site.

Haven't listed on CL in a while--man are the scammers out there.  I don't know how stupid they think people are but the responses they send are a hoot!

Got a couple of interested buyers but no cash in hand yet.  This machine does have the sanitary cover on the candy delivery tray which was optional.  I have not seen too many Stoners with this on it.  It is complete with coin mech and in pretty good shape for a 1953.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Now I know what you mean by squirrel cage.  Technically, that is the optional sanitary candy delivery tray cover.  I have owned quite a few Stoners but that is the only one I have had with that part on it.  I don't think too many survived or it just wasn't a popular option.

My Junior has this as well and agree these may have been discarded as they are easily removed.

How do you determine the year?  Is there a tag somewhere on the machine.  I just bought one about one month ago.  What is the "sanitary" cover or or delivery tray?

How did you do selling it?

  Thanks!

Date is located on the top left side of the candy mechanism. Open the door and look top left side not far from the bolt that attaches the candy mech to the machine itself.

I hope this helps/

As BC pointed out, the serial number is stamped in the top of the vending rack near where it bolts to the machine body.  The first two digits indicate the year of manufacture.  The sanitary cover is the slotted stainless cover over the candy delivery tray that you see on the picture that is posted above in this thread.  I was able to get full asking price for that machine and the bonus happydrinkers is that I told the guy to call Pat Pixley if he wanted somebody local to do a first rate restoration for him.  That machine is now on que at Pat's shop for a restoration sometime in mid 2012!  Always nice to be able to help out a fellow SMC member.

I sold mine for $600 and I felt that it was priced to sell so I think you did well on your price.  Saw the pictures of the one that you bought and it looks to be in better condition than the one that I sold.  Good buy!
