Looking for a uss 64  or 56-7 in Va area.  Doesn't have to be a coke or pepsi.  Prefer a can stack if it's a 56-7 but will take a bottle stack.

Where in VA?  There's a few members right outside DC, I can keep my eyes open for you...for a while there was a nice USS-64 Pepsi down in the Lake Anna region

Here's the one that was down around Lake Anna, been up for sale for a long time now, maybe you could throw them a low-ball offer

Thanks tkaz....  I called him, after talking for a bit he said he paid 1,700 for it and can't figure out why nobody's buying it for 700?  I've got the feeling his feelings would be hurt/insulted if I offered what it's worth.

Hey Pinballnut! Welcome to the board. Good to see someone else from VA!
Wow. $1700? So did you talk price at all? That looks nice, but as you mentioned, not $700 nice. You could still make an offer. Couldn't hurt.

I would let him know that his machine is from the 70's and not the early 50's. Probably why he thinks it is worth $1700. Whoever sold it to him probably took him, but hey sometimes the truth hurts.  He will never sell it at $1700.

Thanks halehouse........   I told him it was a 70's machine. His reply " I must have put the wrong year down in the ad".   I'm headed to NC this weekend to pick up one machine, told him I'd give him a call on Sun. to set up a time to see it.    Only others I ran across was a laCrosse Pepsi in roanoke area..  He wanted $500 for it. Problem is the lack of parts and schematics out there for them if something goes kaput....Guess my area's full of pawn star price machines...LOL

Well, if the ad says he 'needs' to sell it, then maybe he 'needs' to lower the price...I was surprised to see it still for sale, I think its been up for sale for two years now.  The most I have paid for a USS machine is $150, I got lucky and got one off a board member for $25 that needed a little work, and another for $75 that was in good shape but had a terrible paint job.  I think those times are gone finding deals like that now though.

pinballnut, tkaz,

Have either of you even been to one of these auctions? It's a bit of a drive for me (east of Richmond), but some of them look good. No buyer's premium.

I've never been. Going to keep my eyes peeled on that site for now on...  Thanks.. biggrin

I ran an ad on the local CL and had a guy respond with a 56-7. Turns out I know him, fellow Pinball collector, said he just purchased it for $150 but it was smaller than what he was looking for along with being a can stack.  I traded him some glass score displays for it today.  Someone sprayed the black on it..  In the next few days I'm going to utilize some of my cabinet restore techniques n see if I can salvage the original paint underneath.

Hopefully the outcome, on this little vendo, will be the same as this Comet machine that took about an hour to get back the original artwork.

A little better shot:

Here's the only pic I have of the machine right now (from ebay listing)
