Here's a sad sight!!  Turned an old Coke machine into a gun cabinet.  Sad, but guess is kind of cool too I suppose.

Good idea. Not a very popular machine so why not.

I suppose realistically, it would be a pretty secure unit, but not really as secure as a true safe would be.  Only 2 sheets of tin/steel and some insulation between a dishonest person and the contents...unless of course, they went above and beyone and installed a thick steel liner to it.

However it would be pretty hard to get into. Someone would have to really want the guns inside to get into it and if they want it that bad they will get into any safe or cabinet. Like if I were to get a gun safe it would be mostly to keep my kids out and the machine would be more than enough. I guess maybe the auction should read hun cabinet instead of gun safe??

Personally, I'd go ahead and get a gun safe with added fire protection. This may fool a burgler (especially if you have 5 machines around the house - Ha Ha). Realistically, robbers want to get in & out in most cases. Unless they are confident that you or the police will not be coming for them, they will not take the time to break into the machine. We've all seen the damge left behind by unsuccessful soda machine vandals!
Ninety percent of the time, it is someone you know that has burglerized you. Nobody breaks into a house without knowing what is inside as it is not worth the risk otherwise.
