So today I took off the bottle door on my vert 6-case to clean up the windows and replace my bottle door handle, and I ran into this STICKY STICKY thick black stuff along the perimeter of the windows and inside the wood (2 pics). It's still sticky after all these years. So my question is....

What is it? and what product should I use to stick the windows back inside the wood?

Pete,
My guess is that it is something very similar, if not the same stuff, as what you would use to put in a windshield into a car.  You can pick that stuff up at almost any auto parts place.  You'd just have to ask for the right size so that it didn't ooze out once you put it back together.  Please don't take my word on that though as I have never done one of these machines....yet.  Wait for one of these smarter guys to respond back with some verification.  Just my thoughts on it.

Thanks, Ken. It is definitely the same stuff. Just wondering what it is and where to get it....

I've just used Rope Caulk in the past. Any hardware store should carry it.
