C'mon where are all the experts? Rod aka ross, Ron, rob, lol John aka signguy, Joey. Didn't a few people recently restore a 81 dr pepper? Is it worth the 200.00 the guy is asking for it.

Personally I like the 10" round signs on the front of the 81's, but the rectangular signs have been used too. Don't have mine handy to get the measurements, but I think it is like 13" or 14" long. $200 seems high to me, but if it is really NM then I'd might go for it. Most times there are edge chips on the signs and they usually sell for $100-$125. Will he come down at all?

Post what size it is and I can tell you if it is the right one. I have a complete set at home for the Dr Pepper machine.

Rod it is 17 x 6
That is the size of sign on the DP VMC81 in Walter's 3rd book There is also a smaller version (13"x5"), as pictured on the SelectiVend S-48 in Walter's 3rd book

Tom is correct. The one you have is the med sized sign that will fit on your VMC 81 but will be tight. I used the 13" one on my machine. There is also a larger version of this sign which is a step up from the one you have, and will not fit on the machine at all.

My machine has the 17 x 6 sign.... and I was told by the previous owner, who has pics of the machine in its unrestored condition, that the signs are the original dp logos on the front and sides.
