Hi. I'm newly registered to the forums after browsing for a couple months. The information found here has been very helpful.

I got my first machine, a Vendo 81A, recently. And I already have a spot in my kitchen for a 2nd machine.

After seeing several machines restored on the History Channel shows, I thought to myself it sure would be cool to own one. Now I'm hooked... glare My ultimate goal is to collect the entire Vendo 81 series.  oops

Welcome Mat!! (sorry, no pun intended)
Great to have new members here (like me too).
Good luck on your quest for the 81 series Vendo's.... but be aware that there is a 81C ! Yes, I even have pictures of it as proof.
I had a chance to buy it, but backed out of it, but looking back, I should have, cause I don't think I will ever have the chance again  down
Any questions, feel free to cotact me, or anyone else here, as there are MANY people here who know their stuff!!!

Welcome and get out your wallet if you want one of each 81. Do you want one of each brand or 81a,b,c and d?

I hear ya... Finding the machines isn't as difficult as finding the cash to buy them. Since the 81A is Coca Cola, I plan to focus on a VMC 81 Pepsi, 7up, or DrPepper brand machine next.

I found a thread where you posted a larger version of your avatar. All I can say is wow! The 4 machines next to each other looks really nice.

Besides soda machines, my other interest is old porcelain road signs from California--from the Auto Club SoCal and Calif State Auto Assn. Anyone else collect these signs?

Welcome! There's a lot of knowledgeable people on this site that can make restorations much easier. Congrats on the first machine, it won't be your last trust me. Getting hooked on illegal drugs is a lot cheaper than getting hooked on machines, start making space because once you get your first one you find yourself wanting more. Hope you enjoy the site!
