New find, It's a "1996 Police Trainer Deluxe", I've been looking for one at good price
for a long time,  My son loved playing it, he  first played it when he was around 5 and at the time told me he wanted to be a policeman now 13 years later he's working on getting his BS in Criminal Justice, and always remember the game  fondly. So when I saw this one for $300 on Craigslist I jumped on it. On eBay they go anywhere from the low $400 for junk to over $1200 for a nice one,  also added in another $350~$400 for shipping.

This one is in pretty good shape, but the guns weren't working. I did my homework and knew they probably just needed to be calibration. The guy was in a hurry so I offer him $200 and he took. When I got it home and in the basement  (what a pain it's very heavy) and calibration it, I got the guns to work, but it need some tweaking. The outer glass is very dirty inside and I need a set of tamper proof Torx's to remove it.  Does anyone know where I can get a set locally in the metro Detroit area , tried Harbor freight the have them online but are on back order.

Thanks  Ray

Would sears have some bits or drivers for those screws? Or grainger. Found this on their site http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/EKLIND-Torx-Key-Set-5LM81?Pid=search you could order it online and use the will call option and pick it up at the nearest branch.

Sweet Ray, I remember palying that game, I think I kept taking out the civilians.
there used to  be a shop in the Mt Clemens Gilbraltar trade center that carried all sorts of hard to find tools, I haven't been there in a year or so, but it was doing good busoiness everytome I was there.

There's a Grainger in Madison heights, off Dequindere, i think it's on research drive, between 13 and 14 Mile rds.

Great buy Ray!  I think Grainger should be able to take care of you on the tools.

Cool game.  My son also loved that one.

I shop at McMaster Carr.  They have a web page.  They have just about everything.  Here's a page from the online catalog on tamper resistant torx.  There were more pages than this.

If you tamper with the tamper proof screws, sometimes you can snap that little center pin and make it a regular torx.

Cool game.. working on adding a Qbert to my collection myself.

Thanks all for your input, I really appreciate it......., I wound up going to Grainger because I found out I can get a corporate discount .
I was trying to get the game going by tonight of because my son was having a party with the  Sheriff Explorers, allot of the deputies who work with them also stop by,
it was a little  unnerving to come home to two squad cars in your drive way.  The Police Trainer was a big hit with all.

Also,  I found are really good web site that has some really good how to videos  for arcade machine repairs  http://www.arcaderepairtips.com/
at $150 to 70+ an hour to have some come out. I'll  learn it myself, with a schematic and the right parts  there's  there not much one can't fix.

If you haven't found the KLOV forums yet for arcade games, its a great place to get info. Its not near as friendly as SMC, but there is a lot of info available.

I found a great web site http://www.arcaderepairtips.com/ for arcade games with allot of  how to and repairs videos  for all levels  of expertise. I've  learn allot and what great is you can call or email them with questions.
Ive  been dealing with Tim "the guy in the videos" and he's been great with answering all my questions.  If the repair or trouble shooting is beyond your level of expertise you can send them the boards they will trouble shoot them for free and if they need a repair they will do profession job for a good fair price.
