CHaps

I have been admiring from afar the various soda point of sale electric clocks that appear on Ebay..

I have a 7up one that I aquired a few years ago that was made for the European Market.

My concern with the US Versions is not the 110/220 issue but the 50hz/60hz problem that plagues jukebox collectors this side of the world.

I'm assuming that unless I get the speed issue sorted the clock will run slow like the 45's on my jukebox.

Could the more technical guys help me out on this before I spend my hard earned dosh....

Think you can get a frequency converter Dave, sure I've seen one on one of the jukebox sites, but can't remember which one.

Hey Dave.. you can look into something along these lines.. its a converter for 60hz-50hz... May be a bit big for what you need....   biggrin

http://www.hzfrequencyconverter.com/60Hzto50Hz.html

This may be a better option..

Sorry I can't help with your question Dave, but on the subject of 7up clocks .....here is one I sold on e-bay last month that I didn't get to share with the group.

A retired 7up salesman sold me this for $20 bucks  jawdrop

I have one of those 7up clocks from the 70's with the message board at the top with the little plastic letters. Works great after I cleaned out and oiled the mechanism a few times. It also helps me remember when I have an exam coming up.

I have a clock question, bought a Vintage Coke Swihardt. Has the 22 watt round florescent bulb and everytime I connect the light, the bulb blows. I have another clock that is identical but the face is a little differant. Wired the same, replaced the round starter, no luck. Any thoughts. Steve

I actually am not at the dorm this year because of how expensive it was to take the same classes I could take at the community college for 1/3 the price. But the dorm room was I think 18' by 15' or something like that. We had one of what they called super double rooms and ended up getting it because my roommate requested to be in one.

Because of Christine??  I guess that is what you've named your VF-165??  laugh

Now you just need to get Wilson on top of her (Castaway reference).

lol. Yep I named it Christine because of the joke my friends and I had about it having a mind of its own. Thing used to run loud sometimes or start making noises and after a while I would yell at it and the machine would go back to running quiet and it also got louder a few times when I started mentioning it. Also did not like my roommate very much and would always have problems when ever he would use it or mess with it. My roommate actually requested the large room before I got the machine. After a few weeks there I thought that the room was big enough and I had always wanted a machine so I asked him if it was ok with him and he said it was fine with him so I bought it.
