The guy wants $45 and he is only a little over an hour away.  For $45 can I go wrong?

It's a good price. I see the sandwich tray is there. Hard to see if it has the carry handle. I paid more than that for mine which was in excellent/near mint condition.

okay, the seller says the bottom is good and so is the tray.  The side parts of the handle are there but the piece going across is missing.  Does anyone have one to sell or are they reproducing that piece?

I'd buy it before someone else does and pull a handle off a rusted out junker. Can't find my cooler book but don't think that ribbed style is all that common.

a handle will come along a solid RC Cooler like this will not, you better get it or you will regret it.

does the handle attach to the lid or does it attach to the sides of the box and goes over the top?

I just got home from picking it up, you huys were all correct when you said I should get it.  Man the thing is solid, only a little surface rust and everything is there except that handle.  Thanks for talking me into buying it everybody.

CokeMachines, it looks like the handle attaches to one of the flip handles on the sides and when you flip up both handles you then attach it to the second flip up handle which makes it go across the top.  I hope I explained that well.

ok i will look at the cooler, hopefully on monday. i will see what type of handle is on the cooler.  It isnt my cooler, one side of the cooler was cut off to be used on a square top machine to make it into an embossed machine. I will try and take a pic of the machine too

Sounds like an Acton cooler. Is there any manufacture information?
Thanks,

Here's what the carrying handle looks like. Quite unique.

Per Jeff Walter's Complete Guide to Collectible Picnic Coolers & Ice Chests, it's an Atlas 18. 18 meaning it holds 18 bottles.

Looks like Chedki found a picture of exactly what I need.  Even if someone has it, how would I attach something like that?  Creighton, I will check on mine to confirm that it's an Acton.  Where is the manufacturer likely to be on it?

I was thinking that this was what the missing handle looked like.

I the handle he has is different than the type you need. I was told the style you need is called a basket handle and not the most common. he will check tonight, he says he may have the handle you need. I will keep you posted if you still need it.
