Condensation jar fill time?

How often should the condensation jar be full of water? This I am curious about as mine takes about week and a half and its full of water.

It all depends on outside temp, inside temp, how cold your machine is running? the insulation in the machine if it's been redone or if it's old should be replaced. lots of factors but that is alot of water over a week and half time? but again your in a warmer climate than me? I never have to empty my trays or jars. evaporation takes care of it.

As far as I've noticed, it depends on how much humidity there is in the air. Sometimes my (indoor) all-original 81A's jar fills up a third of the way in a week and other times there is barely any in it after a week, but I live in Arizona.

this is a very good question....

my experience is that my V63 never fills the drip tray, which is only about 3/8ths of an inch deep, and only about 20 square inches in size... I place an old plastic ice cream container on the drip tray of my Cornelius (the machine in my avatar) and it will fill the quart container in about two weeks... I think it has to do with how tight the seal is on the Vendo when compared to the Cornelius, and the thickness of the insullation on the two machines... again the Vendo seems to be much more efficient in trapping the cold air, and maintaining temperature... I haven't run my V44 that I restored long enough to generate condensate, but with new insullation and new seals I would expect that it would be comparable to the 63...

Keeping the machine full of product seems to reduce condensation as well.

I stick by my original answer. I just emptied my 81A [inside machine] condensation jar after a little over two weeks and AZ is in the middle of monsoons, so humidity is high (for us) at times [50% R.H.] - 2nd time I've emptied it this summer. I hardly touch it the rest of the year.

Come to central texas.  Our new rain gauge is a bottle cap!!!  I can guarantee that your condensation jar won't fill up for months!!     I would tend to agree with the other guys in that it really depends on the amount of humidity in the air.  If you're in a dry climate, does your Coke bottle sweat?  Nope.  But, if you're in a tropical area, it will be sweating enough to pour into a glass and drink!  Either way, I would not think it a bad thing if it's draining.  It's when it's condensating and not draining that I would get worried.  Just my thoughts.

I grew up there (Dallas), but have lived in AZ for the past 25 years. I make it back every so often and my sweat poors out when I do.

Haha, yeah, I suppose it is even a bit more humid here than it is in Arizona.  I would imagine you guys have probably had more rain than we have though.  I don't think we've had any rain to measure at all since December.  So dry, even the rivers are drying up!!  One of worst droughts they say in the last 100 years.  Pretty crazy.
