Have one opening in Spokane, Thurs. I see they beat "In-N-Out" in taste test polls. Any tips from those of you who have had 5-Guys in the past? Thanks!! Creighton

I ate at the one in Baltimore inner harbor, and it was good food for a fast food place.. a step above Wendy's, but in the running with Sonic and a few others IMHO... The one in Baltimore was a bit pricey, but everything in the area is.. not sure if its standardized pricing...

They started out around here. Their fries are great! A regular size order is plenty for two, maybe even three people. Also, the smaller sized burger is plenty big for me. I can't eat the larger one.

It may cost more but it is much better than most fast food burger joints and you'll leave full. I agree that the small fry will feed a family.

I did some research and if you refinish it, it would sell for at least $5000 easy.

We have eaten there when we were in Southern California to see our daughter and the food was great. We do not have a "5 guy's" or an "in and out" here in Kentucky. We also liked the "in and out". We have a "Taco Johns" and my daughter can not wait to get here to eat there. Their food is the best in MO.

A 5 Guys opened by me (Macomb, MI) and I went there for the first time last week, I agree the fries are great and they do give you allot . The burgers are also good made with fresh hamburger, not frozen. You do pay more, but as often as I go out for a burger I'm willing to pay a little more for quality.
On the subject of Sonic's, we had one open less than a mile from me, they are very cool....good drinks and deserts, but I wasn't too impressed with their burgers.

Thanks All!! I'll give them a try after the opening shock subsides. Here is a short list of what can be had at "in-n-out". They will make anything you want. http://www.badmouth.net/in-n-outs-secret-menu/Agree, Sonic good shakes but burger not so good. Taco Johns is also at the top of my list. Extra meat, extra cheese. Had a Taco Del Rio that was good but closed. Creighton

Finally tried it. Better than In-N-Out. $20 for 2 burgers fries and 1 coke. By far the best selection of burger toppings. Shocked no malts or shakes. Creighton

It's decent, but VERY pricey and I thought Steak N Shake was pricey.
We have a local place called Christy's that is better than 5 guys and 1/2 the price (no peanuts though).
Oh man, LOVE Taco John's - bag of tacos and a couple of beers...perfect snack!

After reading this thread I wanted to try both places. I was in Orlando and sampled 5 Guy's, now I'm in Ontario, CA and have sampled In-and-Out.
I think 5 Guy's was better than the other. The fries were much better.
I feel like a magazine tester. I have been reviewing stuff for my friends all week.

Maybe it's because 5 Guys are local, but I've always though In and Out was much better.
