Acton cooler

I just picked up this Acton cooler, it is the best one I have ever owned. What is the deal with the wrinkle finish? Is that the way it was when it sold or did the paint age this way? Thanks.

They were sold new with both smooth and wrinkle finish.

Thanks for the info, good to know. From the looks of this one someone got it for a gift and said "This thing ways a ton, I will never take this on a picnic" and then proceeded to put it in the attic for the next fifty or so years.
