Hello fellow soda people  ''

After some research im glad to say that i've found my way here to this forum and had some interesting reading. I'm hoping that the collective knowledge of everyone might be able to provide me some advice.

I a new owner of a Vendolator 117. (i'll try to attach a photo in a moment). Ironically, i bought this machine for a box of donuts when a local friend called and said, "hey, we've got some soda machine if you want it." Of course i scooped it up! i've always wanted to get a machine to refurb and so now here i am.

What do know about my machine: It appears to be a 1958 model as dated by the slogan on the side "be socialbe drink pepsi." No other dating is noticable. Everything seems to work fine. Infact the damn thing cools down soda really fast. It's in pretty poor cosmetic shape (meaning there is a ton of syrup crap on everything). and structurally everything seems fine. Could it be a speciman worthy of a complete tear down?

What I'd like to know about my machine: Seems like this model is faily difficult to get information about. I've seen a few other pepsi models, but they are smaller and hold less bottles. Also the logo on this one seems to be differnt that ones ive seen listed on ebay. is it more rare? older?  I guess the bottom line question i have is, should i take the time, effort and money to bring it back to prefect condition? would i be able to get seals and such for a less than popular model? Am i asking for trouble? I'd sure appreciate some input ':<img:'>
