Hello I just picked up two signs the other day, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them or what they are worth, if they are reproductions or not.. The first one is a Hires Root Beer Sign, I couldn't find a date on it. The back of it is painted the olive green color. It says Made in the USA in the bottom left, and AAA sign Co Coitsville Ohio, and BN7 in the bottom right.

The second is a coca cola bottle thermometer/sign. The thermometer was broken, so I threw it away. It says Donasco Made In USA on the bottom. The back of it is also painted the same color green...

Thanks for any info!

IMO neither are reproductions - no idea on value though.

Both  appear to be the real deal.  I can tell you I've gotten  the thermometers working and rust free on Ebay  for 50-$75

Googled AAA Sign Company and it shows that they have produced tons of repro signs. They are no longer in business. IMO, that's good as I detest repro and fantasy signs ! Is your Hires Root Beer sign embossed ? If not, then it's very likely it's a repro.

Hi, I think it is embossed. Just by feeling it, it has a raised lettering feeling from different paint layers, and the paint is not flush or just flat.  Is that embossed? Thanks

"Embossed" means portions are raised from the surface of the sign. It has nothing to do with layers of paint. You should be able to see the embossing very clearly without having to feel it.

Take a look at the back of your Coke thermometer. See those ribs from the bottle ? That's "embossed".

Not sure oh the HIRES sign... alot of those where made late into the 70s' so hard to say.
The coke bottle therm is definalty authentic.. Made by two companys, Donasco and Robertson  the repops are not marked on the bottom and the graphics have a "FUZZY" Look to them
