They just didn't get much paint on the non visible surfaces. This is probably the way they were originally since white doesn't cover well. Maybe he was going for a 100% accurate restoration

Josh, I don't think it's been restored, and seller states original as well, I'd bet it's an original... What a bunch of dud's .

It does look red, but I have an original vmc 81 7up. Mine looks the same. The one I have is in as nice condition as this one nly no broken louver.

the guy in the description says that one of the louvers is broken, i didn't see it either but it's in his description..
original is original , broken louvre or not it's still a darn nice machine,,, would be fun to have.. last one I heard sell for near me went for 5500 so I'd say at least that.. but not sure what reserve is?

WHY restore something that nice?  There aren't very many nice ORIGINAL machines out there. When they look that good, they should be left alone (in my humble opinion). When they are all done up perfect, they almost look fake to me. Something 50-60 years old should have a couple character marks. Now, when you find a rusted/abused machine, sure...restore the heck out of it! Just my cent-and-a-half... |
