I picked up this complete 81D about an hours drive from me. I sent Tom the coin changer mech to clean up and work his magic, but the rest is complete and it runs and cools. The guy was set at $1300 and I bit, so far I am happy with it. How did I do |

I have always wanted a Vendo 81, but none ever seem to turn up for sale around me. $1300.00 sounds fair. At least to me. I always figure in the fact that you were able to pick it up yourself. This justifies spending a little more than what most would consider reasonable. A great deal gets fairly expensive when you start adding in shipping charges. And it goes real sour when the machine shows up not as advertised. So a little more for a machine close by is worth it in the long run. Also,  I don't think $1300.00 is too much either, at least not for a machine as nice as yours appears to be.
 Congrats!

I would jump at that around here (Northwest)...I usually can't touch one for under $2000 and it's usually at $3500 FIRM when I find them...and usually not as nice as the one you have pictured. |

I've been searching everywhere for a good deal on a Coke 81D to go with my Pepsi VMC 81. I'm trying to stay at $1,500 or below. You found a great machine at a very reasonable price. Congratulations |

If that is an origianl paint job, which it appears to be, I'd say you did well.. Clean originals don't come up too often.. dont restore it ,there are plenty of junk ones around to restore.. keep the originals, original in my opionion..
Like Matt said.. wow you are on a roll !!

John,  I agree and this machine will stay original. There are plenty of scuffs and scrapes - the flash hides a lot of sins, but it is in very good shape and once Tom does his thing, it will be up and running.  Thanks for the posts...... |

Very nice original for the money! And as previously stated, keep it original!
Perhaps a little elbow grease and detailing and this baby will look fantastic ! ! !
 Congrats on this purchase!

great price at $1,300. I think we all here would have bought it for that. |
