Modified Seeburg M100C Question

I found a working Seeburg C that has been modified in the 60's or 70's. It was modified to not have pilasters or glass tubes in the front. These machines were easily damaged so I am guessing it was to keep it from getting too damaged while working. My question is do you think the machine is worth buying? I can get it for $400 and it is somewhat close. I am having a hard time getting someone to go to columbus to get it to me but I can figure that out. I know a few people on here have done major cabinet repair in the past. I was thinking of keeping it and holding onto it and looking for a stripped parts machine down the road. Is it worth $400 being this modified?

Parting it would get your $400 and then some.
If you have someone who can do the wood work, it wouldn't be hard to recreate the missing wood, or as you said, find a donor machine.
It's working, now, you won't find a working C for 400 very easily, so my suggestion is Yes, grab it
