Author Topic: Hoow to put a 3 in 1 starter in  (Read 248 times)

I am starting to rewire my WD-20 and I was told to install a 3 in 1 relay overload switch.  How do I put that in with the thermostat wires and eveything else.  Do I just put it over the other wires and it wont short out.  Thanks for your help. ':cool:'

I tried putting it in myself and I think I wired it right because the condenser fan stays on and there’s no popping sound every 10sec.  Now my problem is that the pips get warmer instead of colder. '<img'> Any ideas.


UPDATE: I got it to cool but the compressor runs for about 3min and gets very hot.  Is this good or bad.

The compressor motor does run quite warm, but you should have the condenser fan blowing air back over the compressor, this will help it keep its cool, however if it's getting too hot to touch on the small section of the compressor (this is where the electric motor is, the large diameter is the compressor pump itself) you should do a resistance check across the wiring terminals (with out any wires attatched to them) to make sure you dont have a run or start wining thats shorting out on you ( or the 3-in-1's start relay isn't cutting out and is keeping both windings in circut when only the "run" winding should be on
