Ok guys and gals Just a reminder I need photo's  for the 2009 Calander.

here is some helpful things for taking a photo of you machine .

May I make a few suggestions strictly on behalf of our visitors. This will result in a better displaying image for our visitors on the Web Site.

Take a picture from the front of the machine/cooler but slightly to one side, just enough to see the side of the machine/cooler.  Keeping in mind to get the complete machine/cooler in the frame fully.
Try to take the photograph at a point approximately 3/4 of the height of the machine/cooler.  If your machine/cooler is about 5' tall, camera height should be around 3 1/2' - 4' from the same ground the machine/cooler is sitting on.

The only exception to this rule would be Chest Type Coolers in which case you would do as above except don't use 3/4 the height.  It would be better to take a picture from slightly above the Cooler to show the lids as well.

And as always, don't rely on flash photography.  If the machine/cooler is in doors, try to illuminate the area as best as possible to assist the flash.  Many times pictures taken with the flash alone are very dark in some areas while very light in others.  These photos are difficult to work with for display purposes on Soda-Machines.Com.

  Hope this helps.

I would like to have the calanders done by November so everyone that wants one can have it before   2009
Email me the photo's  send them to me by pony express  how ever you want lets get some good ones.

  Thanks
   Pat

I'm hoping a bigger batch of calendars will be printed up this time around. It would be nice if there were plenty for everyone to get one next year. I wasn't able to get one for 2008 as they were all out. Keep up the great work on the calendars. smile

I'm hoping to have the Nichol Kola together good enough for the calendar also I'll also take one of the GE non-electric Pepsi cooler I picked up.....
Also I will help, if you'd like, with the layout... I would like to see the entire 8.5 X 11 area filled
we would, of course, highlight the machine/cooler/dispenser and maybe have an area
of how it was found... or maybe a before and after shot, or use a manual from a soda machine
booklet of the exact model to use as a background..... I'll do a couple layouts and post them....
what do you want to make as a due date?.... how much time do we have? my cooler
is waiting for a cap catcher and the embossing needs to be lettered.
the GE cooler I will do “as found”... maybe someone who has the electrical version could take a picture of theirs...  and we could do a electric and non-electric of that model month!
And what about a month of dispensers?.....
Just some ideas....

Not that we want an all-Dr. Pepper calendar with Tom's DP-110, but I could contribute pictures of a restored DP Atlas Senior (and possibly a Junior) if we wanted to do a layout with a Junior, Standard, and Senior together on the page.  We would just need a picture of a Standard (there are a couple here that have them nicely done).  That might look pretty cool!   upside  Just a thought...

I think we decided to limit photos without Coca-Cola; however, I would like to see Creighton's submission of his cooler in the snow...

I'm on dial up... yes dial up  down...  but it's free so I can deal with slow... but if you have a machine pm me and we'll get together and figure out what you want to do with your machine...
we want to fill the 8.5 X 11 area but we don't want to cram a ton of stuff in to over
power the machine... But for instance if you have a “off brand” that's not often seen
and several of the same signs in that brand we'll work up a collage for the background
to really make the machine pop.... Or maybe if you have a machine found in the wild like
Glen had a few months back we could use that or the page from an original manual would
be cool too.
We all have different ideas, different t machines in different stages... So don't be afraid or feel
left out if your machine isn't restored.... put it in... also lets do dispensers, picnic coolers,
floor coolers, square top and round tops.... I'd put my GE non in with someones'electric weither it's
restored or not... would be cool then fade out some Pepsi stuff in the back ground...
Anyway send me a PM and let's get this going.....

If this is a project for just us members I can't see CocaCola having a problem with it as long as you are not making money on it. If everyone chips in on the cost of printing and Eric figures what his time is worth for doing the artwork I don't think Coca Cola can say anything about it. Correct me if I am wrong but distributing a calender not for profit to members of a club isn't against the law. If it was then it would be illegal for us to post pictures of our coke machines on this site.

I agree with Josh on the Coke Issue, and also don't think it would be a true "Soda Machines" Calendar without a nicely restored or nice original 81 or collage of Coke machines, all makes, styles etc.. at least one page couldn't hurt... just my two cents.

but of course there are more coke machines out there than the rest so we don't want to flood the calendar with coke machines... but an 81 page with all the brands would be cool!

I'll be sending in my Barqs 81 square top... I'll see how creative I can get on the photo...

Great input for everyone so far,... I think this years will be great! thanks for all of those who are organizing it... happydrinkers

Well last year when I checked with Coca Cola & Pepsi and 7Up (Pepsi & 7Up did not care) about this
and I told them it was for our group only, there would be no other sale just members only Coca Cola did care,  the letter I got back from Coca Cola  It is all about there Trade mark , the cost was $1200.00 up front and then they wanted a percentage of every sale.

It was like day care that I read about in the news last year they had the disney characters' painted on the walls at the day care with out the ok from Disney,  Well Disney found out I don't remember how they did
but they came back and threatened a law suit again this day care  on the illegal use of there charactors'
so they had to paint over the characters' to please Disney..

So That why I would like to keep it a hush hush.
Like so many of you guy I have one hanging in my office
and I think Glen said he has one hanging up at his place of business ,What I'm saying is all it takes is one person
to tip the hat to Coca Cola and we don't want that.

I'm going to smash in all the embossed lettering on my 81's , 39's etc.. and paint on Pepsi logos! glare veryangry

doesn't suprise me... what do you do...
