So I finally recieved my Glascock Jr today, As you can tell by the photos that it has been painted over including the signs. I cleaned one up and it turned out ok. Would you leave as is and finish the chest with the signs as is or would you restore them?

I know it probably will hurt the value but if it were my cooler I would restore them.

I cannot remember if someone is reproducing these...
If so, perhaps keeping the originals to work on at a later time or just save and utilize reproductions for the interim...

My six cents,

I bought reproductions once for a standard from Vintage Vending... it was the only wasy to go as the originals where missing.
if your going to repaint the frames and lids then I would redo the panels. if you can get them cleaned up a bit, then I would clean up the frame (not restore it) so they match,,, and it could like pretty good kinda rough??

Another thought, if you are just going to reproduce some signs, this could be a fun cooler to make a Fantasy cooler out of?? make up some cool artwork for it and just do it in vinyl, nothing saying it couldn't be changed back another time, just keep the panels..
was this the one on Ebay in PA?  I was going to bid as well as it went fairly reasonable didn't it... Glad you got it!
