I don't know if it is just me and my blind eyes, but I have a hard time noticing if there is a message in "My messages." Could you make the message number in blue instead of white. Maybe it will stand out more.

There used to be a pop-up signifying that you had a new message - is that not available anymore?

I agree with Mills... I have gone weeks in the past and just didnt' notice I had a number next to the messages tab....
I dont' get any sort of Pop up Tom... that would be cool!! or some other notification would be great..

I do get a #1 next to my messages, but it doesn't stand out and sometimes I don't notice it for a day or two. The colors just don't stand out for me. I know I am not color blind, but I just have a hard time noticing it. I was just curious if it was only me.
The blue really stands out.

You can turn on the pop up notification, and specify if you want to also receive an email that you have a personal message.
Go to Profile -> Personal message options.
Also check your web browser to make sure pop ups are allowed at this site, since it will block the new message alert.

I redid my info. so I will now be receiving a notification email for personal messages. Now I just have to find someone who wants to write me. Maybe I'll ask my wife, nahhh she don't want to talk to me.

When I return home, I'll look to see if there is a way to increase visibility for new PMs...
As suggested, check to ensure pop-ups are allowed for "soda-machines.com" and this should get your attention. The email option is also good for notifications...
