Bulb wattage...
«

Does anyone know if there is a standard bulb wattage for these units? Mine is a 1971 Cornelius. I can't read the writing on the bulb, all is see is USA.
I got a similar one at Auto Zone and it popped the second I put it in.
Thanks,
Mark

You should probably be looking at bulb voltage... autozone bulbs are probably 12v, your machine probably wants to pu 120v through it.

K, volts then!
I found one at an electronics store that looked similar and was 120 volts.
Didn't buy it, wanted to ask you guys first.

This is the result of a bad ballast.

So, you guys think it'd be ok to just get one from a Radio shack that looks similar but is 120 volts?

I doubt it is a 12v bulb. That is why it popped. If it is like the auto push and twist socket. Then they do make 110v bulbs for those. Not sure what size or watt you need.

Oh a fillament lamp does not use a ballast.
If you have too much trouble finding a bulb, it may be easier to replace the
socket so you can use the screw-in type.

I had the EXACT same experience (I bought a similar bulb from an auto store and POP!) with my 7up Selectivend 1B. I'm new to classic vending (or vending in general), but I would assume this bulb would be common in these circles. So nobody has any info on it? I'd like to keep it as original as possible and not go to screw type.
