Saw this on Craigs list today & snapped it up for $40.00!  no rack/coinmech, but it did have a compressor (although it was removed from the machine, you can see it in the background of one of the pictures I think)

johnnieG,

Nice machine!

I saw an early 60's Faygo pop machine on the Detroit Craigslist a few weeks back.  Tried to contact the seller but he never responded. veryangry  It needed a little internal work but it looked pretty clean on the outside.  The guy wanted $450.  Seemed like a good deal.  I attached a picture.

I wanted that one for my basement bar which has a Stroh's, Vernor's anything Detroit theme.  Oh well!

Pat,

I ended up buying a different machine (USS 64 in excellent condition) and the war department would probably veto a second purchase at this time.  I need to get rid of a few other toys first.  Thanks for the info though.

Good to hear that someone in the group has a line on that one.  I would imagine that there are not too many Faygo machines around.

Tim

Keep me posted on the Vernors though!

Prior to a Mr Johnie G...............I had never heard of a Faygo soda before,
much less an entire Fargo soda machine.

That is a nice slider, I sure hope you can keep the graphics.

Psst, Moondog,
Faygo..... Fargo is in North  Dakota.   biggrin

Faygo is a Michigan tradition, one of the last local Soda companies still around after 100 years.
INHO, their orange and grape sodas taste  better than Cuush, and redpop  (strawberry pop) is a secret  we don't share with the rest of the country.

Pat - considering  you've got experience with  moving a machine with twists and landings,  I think going downstairs for a change would be a piece of cake  biggrin

John - Are you going to try to repro the logo's and keep it a Faygo machine? I forgot they used yo also use the Fruit logo's,  I may need to find a  63 and and try for a fantasy machine .

Hey JohnieG,
Machine looks great! I hope when its done, you fill it full of what I call the "holy trinity of pop". Thats Faygo orange, Faygo redpop, and Faygo grape. That made me thirsty just saying that, maybe I'll run down to the store and pick some up.

Yes indeed I plan to restored & preserve the Machines decals & paint scheme plus I have an advantage of owning a CDROM of OEM Faygo graphics given to me by the then head of promotions of Faygo's Detroit HQ, for use in restoring faygo soda machines, my Avatar ( the faygo rootbeer mug) is one example. the only caviate (limitation) is that I cant sell or distribute thier logos except to restore Faygo machines. RedPop & Rock&Rye are in my Detroit veins I'm afraid.
