We purchased a soda machine pretty much blind at an auction the other day and we have no idea what we've got.
It's a Vendorlator Model VF 81R-SA machine, Unit VT24. I think it's Sun Drop on the front, but on each side it has three decals for another brand I've never heard of, claiming it's as "refreshing as a cup of coffee"
Is there a way to tell when this machine was manufactured? As it is in excelent shape I am also curious as to it's worth. I've been reading on this site that the Vendorlator Model 81 is the most desireable machine, but does VF and R-SA mean anything?
If someone owns a similar machine I would love to hear from them.

We just got it so we've got no pictures yet. I'll be sure to post some when we do. It is gold in color, not yellow (like the RC model). First price was $.10, but a $.25 sticker has been placed over it.
All the decals on the side are identical, and if I remember are in the shape of a cup of coffee.
The biggest problem we face is the fact that we don't have a key to get in it! Was sold "as is" and no key was found for it. The key number is K1841.

I got a second chance to look at this machine. It is NOT a regular Vendorlator model 81. The corners at the top are *square.* It looks identical to a VMC81 as far as the coin door and such but the corners are square. On the front it has a logo for RC cola. The brand on the side is "Gold-en Girl Cola" and immediately underneath this is listed "Sun Drop". I'm assuming that the Golden Girl logo will be found if one were to peel the RC label off the front. Any help here?

BTW: We did take pictures of it but it will take us the rest of a roll of film to develop them and get them scanned in...

Hey Scotty,
I PM'ed you (Private Message) about your question; however, may I make a suggestion... When you have the film developed, have them place the photos on a CD as well as give you prints...
Since I can't afford a digital camera that equals the photo quality of my 35 mm Camera, I do this all the time. I've found that it's cheaper to wait until you have around 4 rolls of film to develop because they will all fit on the CD.
Just a suggestion though...
